Motherlove Herbal Review

Motherlove was founded by an Herbalist named Kathryn Higgins after developing a passion for working with plants and creating herbal concoctions for bath and skin care items.  While pregnant with her first child Kathryn's continued pursuit of health through nature she created teas, oils, baths and liquid herbal extracts which became the foundation for Motherlove products today and has been offering safe, natural and organic products for Mom and baby for over 20 years now.

When I use anything on my babies skin I want it to be free of harmful chemicals and all natural and that is exactly what I get with these products.  The diaper rash & thrush salve contains 96% certified organic ingredients and has a 0 rating on the Environmental Working Group (EWG) database and I can pronounce every ingredient.  That definitely makes me feel safe using it on my baby and it really works!  Tates doesn't normally get a lot of rashes however he has been experiencing some lately and the salve has been very helpful.  There is no heavy scent, it actually doesn't have any smell to it at all.  It comes in a little jar; perfect size for travel and is very easily spreadable on babies tush and also safe for cloth diapers!
I also had the opportunity to use the green salve which not only boasts the same 0 rating on the EWG database but has 100% certified organic ingredients that are surely familiar to green mama's.  A similar consistency to the diaper rash & thrush salve this little pot of joy can be used in so many wonderful ways and is a must have in any home whether you have children or not.  It soothes dry chapped and irritated skin, aids in minimizing of scars and helps take the itch out of insect bites without chemicals.  I have extremely dry hands and my finger tips crack and bleed on their own; as long as my skin isn't broken as the directions state not to use  on broken or abraded skin, this salve was a very soothing remedy for me and I look forward to using it in the upcoming harsh winter months.
Motherlove also offers a wide variety of products specifically designed for Moms to be and breastfeeding moms and offer some lovely gifting ideas.

  6. After a few months of being totally unsatisfied with my cloth diapering wash routine I decided to experiment with some different brands of detergent. Which resulted in my super sensitive little ones getting a rash that I just could not find a cream that was both cloth diaper safe and didnt aggravate the rash even more until I was able to find Motherlove in an apothecary nearby. The diaper rash and thrush cream has worked wonders! So much so that I have been planning on going back to get some of the green salve to keep on hand.

  7. Also I left my brood with my dad so I could run to the store and wouldn't ya know my toddler got into the rash cream and he said the first thing he did upon finding her and cleaning her up was to check the ingredients in case she had put her fingers in her mouth only to be completely relieved to find that everything was all natural!

  8. I have never tried Motherlove. And I don't use any diaper rash cream because of all the chemicals... so this would be a great product for me to try. Thanks for the review!
