M.I.A.

I know I have been totally off the grid and MIA.  My youngest has been seriously sick for over 2 weeks now and has been in and out of the hospital and I have not been active online much except for asking for prayers.  He is on the mend (hopefully) and we are home now so I should be able to get back to posting, maybe even sharing the story of our 2 weeks from HELL journey.  I just wanted to let you all know I have not quit on you so please don't stop dropping by, and to everyone that has been praying for us thank you so much!

BabyBond Nursing Cover Review, Discount Code & Giveaway

BabyBondButton

There are lots of nursing covers on the market today and most of the ones I have seen are just capes you put on the front of mom hiding baby from the world.  BabyBond is a wonderful nursing accessory that covers Mom only allowing her to maintain modesty while baby is uncovered allowing for eye contact,  continued interaction and communication with Mom.
Nurse. Converse. Bond.

BabyBond offers 3 different options for your nursing needs.

The Original (shown in blue below) and Flex (shown in purple) styles are designed to be worn like a sash allowing you to nurse form the top of your shirt while covering your back and belly remain covered by your shirt.  The Flex and Original styles are the same except the Flex comes with a removable burp cloth that attaches at the shoulder. Both of these styles are available in sizes 1-4 and have a few color options.  They are easily stored in the included matching pouches.
Size Chart

The Couture is the one I received and chose it for 2 reasons that set it aside from the others, number one it is adjustable as it comes in one size to adapt to Moms changing shape after baby comes and number two I really like the option to use it not only as a sash style cover as the Original and Flex but the Couture can be worn like a belt at the bottom of your shirt where you can lift your shirt and feed baby still covered.  The Couture is available in several colors and rolls up into a self storing pouch which is super compact for the diaper bag or even your purse.

All of the covers are made of 100% cotton (my Couture was so super soft!) and are machine washable so no special care is needed.  BabyBond is also made in the USA.

Prefense Hand Sanitizer Review & Giveaway

In case you don't know me personally I have to admit something....I am a borderline germaphobe.  I clean sanitize everything I can get my hands on which not only drives my husband and kids nuts but causes super dry hands for me and I already have sensitive skin to boot.

That is one of my favorite things about Prefense Foaming Hand Sanitizer, it is 100% Alcohol free AND it contains moisturizing Silica Complex with soothing organic botanicals to prevent drying, redness and chapping.  That isn't the only benefit of Prefense, there are so many more advantages of using Prefense over traditional hand sanitizers.  Here is a quick breakdown of the benefits of Prefense:

Our technology protects you for 24 hours or 10 hand washings!
*   Prefense is non-toxic and safe for kids! It will not hurt you if swallowed!
*   Prefense is silica based which means it doesn’t dry out your hands like traditional alcohol sanitizers.  It actually smooths and softens your hands.
* Prefense protects against staph, strep, E.coli, drug resistant MRSA strains, and more. It fights germs that other hand sanitizers can’t.
*  Because “one spray lasts all day” the 1.5 oz Prefense Foaming Hand Sanitizer offers 120 applications, costing only $.08 per day, compared to $1.20 per day with alcohol hand sanitizers.

I love the light citrus scent and how it isn't goopy and runny like other alcohol based sanitizers we are used too, the foam and nice scent makes it fun for my boys to use!  And the 1.5 oz size is perfect for your diaper bag or purse or pool bag with the nice weather upon us.

BUY:  You can buy Prefense Hand Sanitizer HERE (it is on sale right now!)
WIN:  One lucky Eco Baby Mama Drama followers will win an 8 oz bottle thanks to the generous folks over at Prefense! That is 640 applications!  THANK YOU Prefense!

MANDATORY ENTRY:  Follow my blog publicly via GFC and tell me what feature you like most about Prefense.  **Please leave your email address in your mandatory entry so I can contact you if you win!**

Rosebud Diaper Boutique Roots Diapers Review & Giveaway

It's my first official diaper review and giveaway on MY blog and this one is seriously my favorite diaper!  I was fortunate enough to not only get a chance to review the newly debuted fitted diapers but I was also a tester for WAHM extraordinaire Andrea who is also the owner of Rosebud Diaper Boutique.  You can order online and if you are a local you can drop in and shop, try things on your little one or just chat with Andrea and her sidekick Rosie that the store was named after.  After being laid off recently Andrea decided she was going to start her own line of diapers and after toting around with names and logos she came up with a perfect fit and called them Roots.  Andrea's previous job was in conservation and her love of the outdoors and nature (you can't tell by her daughter's name huh?) make Roots a great name for her creations.  Something I really love is that she hand draws each tag so everyone is one of a kind. You can see the little roman numeral on the lower right side showing the size and the stitching so the edges purposely fray, isn't that cool?  Two of my tester diapers don't even have these adorable tags because they weren't named Roots until after we had been wearing them for awhile (well Little T wore them, they didn't quite fit me!)

Although Andrea first started out trying to have Roots be a one sized diaper she ended up changing them to be 2 sizes, size I for approximately 9 to 20 pounds with the rise stretching up to 16 inches and size II for approximately 20 pounds up to potty training with a rise of up to 17.25 inches.  So you want to know what these squishy diapers are made of you say?  The outer fabric/print is typically made of cotton however Andrea also does one of a kind hand drawn artistic prints on organic bamboo fleece (OBF) which is more absorbent than the cotton as OBF is used a lot as an inner absorbent layer.  There is a hidden inner layer of organic hemp fleece (OHF) and a layer of organic bamboo velour (OBV) next to baby's skin.  Each diaper comes with a simple rectangle lay in stlye insert (that is compatible with other diapers if you are in a pinch!) that consists of OHF and OBV.

These diaper are VERY absorbent yet super trim at the same time.  My little one hasn't worn a cover with these diapers yet as he hasn't needed one, and he naps in his Roots all the time.  Some of my other favorite features of this diaper are the hidden belly snap closure (for those of you that don't know I am a HUGE fan of snaps and hidden snaps are even better!), low rise that hits under the belly (this was a great benefit for us as Little T has a short rise), tapered rise for a trimmer fit through the legs which helps as Little T has chunky thighs and something I had never seen until Roots~belly elastic.  This is so fabulous, not only for those babies that are belly sleepers and experience gaps which lead to wetness but also for those explosive blowouts that every mom has experienced.  This diaper can hold it ladies, no matter what you are feeding your kiddos! Not to mention these diapers clean up spectacularly!

As I said Tatie baby had chunky thighs and these were a great fit (both the tester diapers and the finished products).  The gentle 3/8 inch elastic was soft and never left marks on his thighs or belly.  I also love the fit in the crotch area, not too wide and not too narrow.  With summer coming and the warmer weather having a nice stash of these will be great for letting your little ones hiney have some air and not have to worry about getting their clothes wet, although I do know Andrea is working on wool to go with these fabulous fitteds that she stocks weekly now at Rosebud Diaper Boutique.

I know I went a little picture crazy but I wanted you all to see how the fit is, and these are only shots of the finished products, if anyone wants to see shots of the awesome tester diapers just let me know and I can post them!

Giveaway time!! One lucky Eco Baby Mama Drama follower is going to win a Roots diaper in their choice of in stock size/print!  Thank you Andrea!
