Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer Review & Giveaway & Huge Mother's Day Sweepstakes

Thermometers have always been a source of frustration for me.  We have had a large collection of different thermometers all with the same problems....accuracy.  I simply cannot read the ones that have the thin red line and mercury in them (not to mention a broken one is a danger!) and the digital ones we had (I swear we had a dozen!) were never reliable.  Exergen must have been reading my mind when they were making their Temporal Artery Thermometer, I wish I had found this product sooner.

In the past if T-Bone was feeling sick I would take his temperature and it would say one thing and to gauge accuracy I would take my own temperature and some would say I too had a fever, or he wouldn't register a fever and he would be burning up.  No matter how I would take his temperature (under the tongue or under the arm) I could never get an accurate reading.  And I couldn't ever remember whether or not to add or subtract a degree for under the arm, when my kids are sick I tend to forget things like adding a degree or whatever the rule was.  Having so many thermometers I would take his temperature with several of them to see if I could compare readings but NONE of them ever matched, and I am not talking about being off by a .1 or .2 I mean off by several degrees sometimes!

When Tates was recently very ill and in and out of the hospital with a very high fever I was determined to find a thermometer that worked and get rid of all the ones we had that were useless.  I was so blessed to come across the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer.  This thermometer is like none other and offers exactly what every parent needs for their home medicine cabinet.  This must have tool offers accurate readings, easy to use directions that are right on the thermometer, and quick readings without having to disturb a sick sleeping child.
Simply hold down the button while placing the thermometer flat on the forehead and glide it across to right above the ear, the Exergen works by scanning the heat that comes off the forehead from the temporal artery.  I love that you can use this without waking your child, it really is such a great tool for every family.  Clear easy to read digital results in seconds and you don't even have to remember how to use the thermometer at 2am, the directions are right on the back of the thermometer for you.
When I received the Exergen in the mail I immediately tested it on both my kids and myself and was very impressed to see that readings were accurate after taking repeated temperature checks and never varied more than a fraction of a degree.  Tates and T-Bone got scanned several times throughout the first few days we had the thermometer and each time the results were consistent reassuring me that when I truly did need the thermometer I could count on it.

Having one less thing to worry about when you have a sick little one that needs 100% of your attention is truly a wonderful thing.  With Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer I not only have the security of knowing I have a great tool to aid me in assessing my children's health but also knowing with one quick swipe of the forehead I am confident I have accurate information.

  9. I love how fast it is. Other thermometers take FOREVER. My son doesn't have that kind of patience...especially when he's sick.

  10. I love how easy it looks. So much better than pinning down a toddler and trying to get them to old still for so long.
