Trim Down Thursday~Surviving Easter Treats

Easter is this coming Sunday and I am excited to be spending time for this holiday with my family however I am nervous because I know I will be tempted to indulge in foods that I might not normally eat if it weren't a holiday.  During any holiday most people tend to overeat and/or eat foods that they normally wouldn't and gain weight. Here are a few things that I try to remember for the holidays:
  • Moderation (it is Ok to indulge a little)
  • Don't Hate Yourself (Eat too much?  Don't dwell on it and let it ruin the occassion)
  • You Only Live Once (you aren't wrecking your diet with one piece of cake! It is Ok to 'reward' yourself for the hard work you have been putting into staying in shape)
  • Stay On Track (Try to still workout over the holidays)
  • It's A Party! (Have fun, celebrate the holiday and stop worrying!)
  • Tomorrow's a New Day (Feel like you went overboard and failed?  You can start new tomorrow!)
I find that if I try to remember these things I tend to have a fun time and make healthy choices too!  What do you do to stay healthy during the holidays?  Check out what Amanda at Coping with Frugality has to say about Easter basket ideas for some great sugar alternatives and please feel free to link up your health related posts!
